Why my husband rocks, #234269871
Because tonight? He made Blue Cheese Burgers. With mushrooms and pickles.
And it was delicious.
And i don’t feel a damn bit guilty about that burger.
Or about the homemade peanut butter cookies we had for dessert.
Now, if only my stomach would start behaving, one of these days. One of the more obnoxious parts about the seasonal acclimation process is that every fall and spring, i have about a week where food is just not my friend. Today, i heated up my lunch and was all ready to dig in when my body said What The Hell You Think You’re Doing? You want more trail mix.
So i had trail mix. It had dried cherries, and i have decided that dried cherries are about as delicious as it gets. Yowza.

Wow, glad you guys liked the burgers! The funny thing is that I was very close to making some peanut butter cookies from scratch last night, too! That would have been too much of a coincidence!

One of the Hub and my favorite local restaurants has something on the menu that they call the “Black & Blue Burger.” It’s got cajun seasoning in the burger itself and it’s served with blue cheese in the bun. Now I know how delicious THAT thing is (I’m not big on burgers, but I love THIS one), so I have some idea of how yummy your burger must have been. (Okay… just went and looked at the recipe… and now I’m salivating. Must. Try. Recipe. When. I. Have. Money…)
And WHY would you feel guilty? Burger = protein. Cheese = protein AND calcium. It’s all good.

Kate, we uh, had to test that they weren’t so overwhelmingly delicious so as to induce spontaneous combustion before we made them for anyone else.
I mean, if we invited you over and then you ate them and they were so tasty that you just combusted right then and there? I’d feel really guilty about that.

nuckingfutz, there’s a place Ben and i used to go to that had something remarkably similar - blackened burger with cajun spices in it, and blue cheese on top of it. I never got it because cajun spices don’t agree with me, but i’ve heard it was incredibly delicious.
