Repeat after me.

Junkfood Science gets her own section, because her posts are More Than Blogs:

Books (see above note regarding news sources):

Other web sites:

I’m sure i’ve missed a few links here and there. Feel free to link ‘em in comments if you’re so inclined.

This is where i might normally ask if anyone has any questions, but i just know some smart-ass would say “Hey Lindsay, do diets work?”… at which point, i would be forced to let loose a mighty AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA shortly before having a minor aneurysm.

    Awesome post!

And thank you for the link. :-)

  2. lindsay Says:

Hey, thanks for giving me something worth linking! :D

  3. Rachel Says:

Haha, too bad domain squatters have already registered dietsdontwork.com. We could just compile a huge archive of stories there. An eating disorder recovery center has luckily registered the .org version.

  4. lindsay Says:

Rachel, you may be on to something there. There are some other variants of that domain that ARE available…

diets-dont-work.net and .org, for example. :)

  5. Meowser Says:

Lindsay, this rules. I am so bookmarking this! Ampersand’s post, especially, is a treasure trove of data not readily available elsewhere online.

  6. lindsay Says:

Meowser, feel free to bookmark and use as necessary. And if you have any i’ve missed, lemme know and i’ll add it. :)

  7. Rachel Says:

Lindsay - if I were made of money and had time to spare, I’d reserve a whole bunch of diet-sounding domains and then have them redirect to a HAES page.

  8. lindsay Says:

Rachel, when i win the lottery? All over it, like dead on Elvis.

  9. JoGeek Says:

I’d also like to link back to this, do you mind? Fantastic job with the research!

In response to “zombiez” “Diet’s don’t work”….I couldn’t agree more. Actually, there is alot of research that show that “diet’s and diet trend’s” do not work.
Diet by definition is actually what you ingest by way of food and drink on a daily basis. Some of us consume more or less in way of carbohydrates, protein and fat. The proper balance of all three will help you to lead a healthier lifestyle reducing pathologies (disease) directly linked to daily nutritional intake.
